Cities Alliance Corporate Performance 2024

2024 marked the third year of implementing the four-year Strategic Plan (2022–2025) “Delivering to the Urban Poor”. Each year, scorecards provide an overview of Cities Alliance’s performance. They are its primary tool for managing results, enabling the Secretariat, Board, funders, and partners to review progress against indicators and targets defined in the Corporate Results Framework.
Annual scorecards also help track Cities Alliance's contribution to SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 5 (Equality), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 13 (Climate Action), 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
As of 2024, key achievements during the current strategic period (2022-2025) include:
- Over 700,000 direct beneficiaries of Cities Alliance services - in 2024, this included 116,490 individuals benefiting from improved access to urban services, strengthened capacities and/or support for livelihoods strengthening
- Over USD 73M funds leveraged for investments into cities
- 21 local strategies and plans developed
- 20 community infrastructure projects constructed
In 2024, Cities Alliance:
- Facilitated 153 policy dialogues, awareness-raising activities and formal learning events
- Produced 64 knowledge products
- Engaged 93 urban institutions in capacity strengthening relationships, with over 40,000 individuals participating
As the Strategic Plan enters its final year in 2025, Cities Alliance remains committed to continuing to measure its contribution to locally led solutions that advance inclusive development and climate resilience, while ensuring that its efforts are aligned with global development efforts and responsive to local needs.
