In informal settlements, climate change effects disproportionally affect women in comparison to men. Cities Alliance is committed to creating more inclusive and resilient cities and communities to provide equally accessible spaces, opportunities and services for everyone.

The 2020 Innovation Programme Call for Proposal 'Stronger Partnerships: Local Innovation for New Climate Realities' is supporting five projects with the aim of strengthening local adaptation in Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

One of the activities included in the programme is the organisation of workshops with the aim of strengthening gender mainstreaming actions within the projects. This video was produced in collaboration with our Cities for Women Programme as an introduction to the grantees on the implication of gender in climate change adaptation.
