Implementing the Regional Plan for the Implementation of the New Urban Agenda (PRINAU). Session 1: Plan for the Recovery, Social Reconstruction and Resilience of Central America and the Dominican Republic.

Webinar on 19 March 2021 at 16.30 CET (in Spanish only)

The Central American Social Integration Secretariat (SISCA), the Cities Alliance, UN-Habitat, ECLAC and Eurosocial, are working together to bring a series of Housing Laboratories (LAVs) on comprehensive public policy instruments. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate risks, the development of tools is discussed in an open debate in light of the Regional Plan for the Implementation of the New Urban Agenda (PRINAU).

Central elements are analysed and linked to the priorities and specific themes designed in the guidelines of the Plan for the Recovery, Social Reconstruction and Resilience of Central America and the Dominican Republic.

The PRINAU will also be introduced during the IV Latin American and Caribbean Housing and Habitat Forum that will take place from May 17 to 21, 2021.

The first of the series of LAVs will have two components:

  1. An introduction to the PRINAU and its contents; the link to the Plan for the Recovery, Social Reconstruction and Resilience of Central America and the Dominican Republic; and the context to formulate concrete projects to support implementation, as well as critical views, about the relevance of PRINAU from a strategic perspective.
  2. A dialogue that deals with the question of how to approach the implementation of PRINAU-SICA, considering the priorities of the region and the needs of each sector in topics such as public policies, governance mechanisms, targeting of investments and addressing gender equality.
