Next EXCO Meeting, Uganda 4-7 June 2012
2 February 2012
Dear Executive Committee Members,
Warm greetings from Washington.
The purpose of this email is to ask you to reserve the dates of June 4-7, 2012, for the next meeting of the Cities Alliance Executive Committee (EXCO). As agreed, the meeting will be held in Uganda (Kampala and/or Jinja), and will be held in conjunction with the Board meetings of the Public Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF) and the Global Programme for Output Based Aid (GPOBA). We will revert to you again, within the next week, once we have finalised the agendas, events and site visits in greater detail.
I also wish to advise you that, last week, the Cities Alliance teamed up with the Centre for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) in Marseille to hold a very successful meeting on the Joint Work Programme for the Middle East and North Africa. As soon as the minutes and framework document have been approved, we will circulate these for your information. The meeting was attended by representatives of Italian, French and German Cooperation, Medcities and UCLG, UN-Habitat and the World Bank, as well as CMI and Cities Alliance secretariats. The Secretariat also held very productive bilateral meetings with UCLG and UCLGA in Rabat, the outcomes from which we will also circulate in the near future.
With my best wishes,
William Cobbett
