After being temporarily put on hold during 2013, the Cities Alliance is preparing to issue a new Call for Proposals for the Catalytic Fund.

After being temporarily put on hold during the Secretariat’s move to Brussels in 2013, the Cities Alliance is preparing to issue a new Call for Proposals for the Catalytic Fund (CATF).

One of the partnership’s four main business lines, CATF grants support policies that catalyse city transformation and activities to enhance innovation and learning.

The 2014 Call for Proposals will focus on a specific theme, which will be announced in April 2014. This follows the 2012 Call for Proposals centred on the theme “Youth and the City.”

Some of the key elements of the Catalytic Fund are that:

  • Grants are awarded through a competitive process that is open at least once a year following a public Call for Proposals.
  • Application requirements include a Concept Note on the proposed project.
  • The grant size is currently between US $50,000 – US $250,000.
  • Sponsorship by one or more Cities Alliance members is required.

Once the Call for Proposals has been issued, we will post an announcement on www.citiesalliance.org and via our social media sites (Twitter and Facebook). Please note that no applications will be accepted until the Secretariat formally issues a Call for Proposals.

For more about the Catalytic Fund, please visit our website at www.citiesalliance.org/catalytic-fund or request information directly at the CA booth during the World Urban Forum.
