The World Bank
The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. It comprises two unique development institutions owned by 186 member countries—the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA). The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF)
The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is the UN's capital investment agency for the world's 48 least developed countries.
UN Environment
UN Environment is the United Nations' designated entity for addressing environmental issues at the global and regional level. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP joined the Cities Alliance in 2000.

UN-Habitat
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. UN-Habitat is a founding member of the Cities Alliance.
