[3 September 2014] -- The South African NGO Sustainable Energy Africa is holding a course on “Energy and Sustainable Urban Development in Africa” 17-21 November 2014 at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.

The course aims to enhance leadership and management in government, business and civil society regarding the implementation of sustainable energy solutions in urban areas. It is intended for all those in the energy and sustainable urban development sector.

It will focus on the following areas:
  • The global and national energy and climate situation
  • Energy policy, regulatory issues, technologies and institutional frameworks to identify barriers and opportunities to transform cities
  • Issues relating to energy planning and data, energy poverty and informal settlement electrification, and energy efficiency and renewable energy opportunities

 

The course is part of the SAMSET programme, a multi-year, multi-partner initiative focusing on urban energy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
