Job Vacancy at GiZ for Program Coordinator, Cities Development in Asia

 

The Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) is an Asia-wide regional initiative established in 2007 by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Germany, with additional support of the governments of Austria, Singapore, Spain and Sweden and of the city of Shanghai, China. CDIA is jointly managed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and German International Cooperation (GIZ). 

 

The GIZ CDIA Program Coordinator (JOB-ID: 9470) will be responsible for the GIZ support to the preparation and implementation of CDIA's Strategy and Business Plan 2013-2017 and for the implementation of strategic activities within that framework. As the coordinator of a dedicated team of professionals in the CDIA core management team (CMT) you will have the key responsibility to ensure that CDIA’s Strategy and Business Plan (SBP) 2013-2017 objectives are met. You will lead and cooperate with all other members of CDIA's CMT in a broad range of activities in cities, at national and at regional level. 

 

GIZ is looking for a professional with an university degree in urban development/ management, economics and/or public administration (preferably with a specialization in urban finance and/or urban economics), and at least 15 years of working experience in urban management, and/or related areas, of which a significant part will have been in Asia. 

 

Assignment period: October 2012 - December 2015
