Dear Consultative Group,

The Secretariat is pleased to provide an update on Cities Alliance proposals that have been processed since our last Update of 15 October 2009.

I am pleased to share with you one proposal recommended for approval, "A Strategy for Transforming Settlements of the Urban Poor in Uganda: A Secondary Cities Support Programme" which shall be considered approved on 27 November 2009, on a no-objection basis.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight and share with you, for the purposes of donor co-ordination, two proposals "Planning Support Unit: An Initiative to Support City Development Planning in the State of Madhya Pradesh, India" and "World Urban Campaign – Support for Set up and Launch." We would welcome any early feedback or suggestions you or your country-based colleagues might wish to bring to our attention and would ask that comments be sent by 27 November 2009.
