The city of Marrakech,
Morocco will host the next Cities Alliance Public
Policy Forum and Consultative board meetings from
November 7 to 11, 2005. The two-day Public Policy
Forum (PPF) will provide a platform for sharing
lessons learned from experience of urban governance
as well as debating key international policy issues
affecting city governance. The Forum this year will
showcase the Moroccan government's Villes sans
Bidonvilles programme.
Proposed topics for

Access to Finance
Host mayor, Omar
Jazouli, is expected to deliver the opening address,
to be followed by the Ministers for Land Management,
Water and the Environment, the Minister for Housing
and Urban Development, the Minister of Social
Development, the Family and Solidarity. Other
speakers during the Forum include Cities Alliance
policy Advisory Board member and Jordan's Minister
for Public Works and Housing, Yousef Hiasat, mayors
and other city officials from cities in the Middle
East and North Africa region, urban experts from
Moroccan universities and research institutes, and
Cities Alliance members.
