As part of the
preparations for the third session of the World
Urban Forum to be held in Vancouver in June 2006,
the Government of Canada, in partnership with
UN-HABITAT is sponsoring a 72-hour internet
HABITAT JAM
from December 1 - 3, 2005. Tens of thousands of
people from all walks of life are expected to
connect on the Internet to discuss and debate some
of the most urgent and controversial issues that
face our rapidly urbanising planet. The JAM will
gather all input to turn ideas into actions for the
Vancouver World Urban Forum agenda and influence the
Forum's content.
Six topics will be
discussed in each of the JAM forums based on the
themes chosen for the World Urban Forum:
-
Improving the
Lives of People Living in Slums
